Future Community Enhancement Program Will Build Projects Throughout Parish
Our office recently presented the Call for Projects process for our MOVEBR Future Community Enhancement (FCE) Program, a $49 million allocation for projects that promote pedestrian and bicycle mobility, such as sidewalk and bicycle facilities, as well as beautification throughout the City-Parish. Director of Transportation and Drainage, Fred Raiford, recently presented the process and criteria for funding to the Metro Council so they can sponsor potential projects within their respective districts and submit them for consideration. You can read more about Call for Projects here.
Questions about Flashing Yellow Arrow Signals?
As DOTD continues installing flashing yellow arrow signals throughout the state, including East Baton Rouge Parish, some drivers have questions about these new signals. Although the MOVEBR program has not installed them yet, flashing yellow arrow signals will be included on future projects where appropriate. Efforts began last year to prepare drivers for these changes. You can read more about flashing yellow arrow signals here.

Featured Project: Plank-Nicholson Bus Rapid Transit Project
The MOVEBR Program is Building Louisiana’s First Bus Rapid Transit Line
The public got its first look at design plans for the Plank-Nicholson Bus Rapid Transit Project, a line that will connect the north and south side of the City of Baton Rouge to downtown, at three public open houses hosted by Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and the MOVEBR Program Management Team. Exhibits and project designers explained the amenities available with bus rapid transit (BRT) and shared a route map showing stops that will connect neighborhoods to job centers, essential services and major destinations in Baton Rouge. MOVEBR Team Gathers Feedback to Improve Small Business Participation

Update: Look for MOVEBR Project Advertisements on Our Home Page
One of the newest features of the MOVEBR website is a link to project advertisements on the home page. Businesses interested in working with the program no longer have to visit the website’s pre-construction and construction areas for upcoming project advertisements. A prominent box on the home page now features a bulldozer icon with the text “Projected Advertisements,” and links directly to the upcoming pre-construction and construction opportunities. You can read more about it here.
