MOVEBR Will Move 38 More Projects into Construction in the Next 12 Months

As we move into the fourth quarter of 2023, the MOVEBR program is gearing up for our biggest year yet. With 14 projects completed, 18 currently in construction and 95 in pre-construction, we expect to move 38 more projects into construction in the next 12 months. Community Gets Look at Scenic Highway Corridor Improvements Project

Southern University students, area business owners and residents turned out to see proposed improvements to Scenic Highway at a September open house held at the Scotlandville Branch Library.

The Scenic Highway Corridor Improvements Project proposes to enhance pedestrian, transit, and bicycle safety and mobility by improving the existing infrastructure between Harding Boulevard and Swan Avenue. You can read more about the Scenic Highway Corridor Improvements project here.

Jefferson at Bluebonnet Intersection Project Underway

Jefferson Highway at Bluebonnet Boulevard is a key intersection and a highly-traveled corridor. The proposed improvements at this intersection include extending the left turn lanes on Bluebonnet at Jefferson Hwy. You can read more about the Jefferson at Bluebonnet Intersection project here.

Emergency Power Supplies for Traffic Signals Installed Ahead of Hurricane Season

The MOVEBR program installed 117 uninterruptible power supplies for traffic signals on key corridors prior to the start of the 2023 hurricane season. You can read more about the uninterruptible power supplies here.

New Community Enhancement Projects Added to Website

The first call for future community enhancement projects was completed in early 2023. A total of 29 new projects have been added to the MOVEBR website so citizens can follow progress on these projects. You can read more about the future community enhancement projects here.

Socially & Economically Disadvantaged Businesses (SEDB) Enterprise Program Update

The City-Parish's Socially & Economically Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program is underway. Local qualifying businesses are encouraged to complete the certification process. You can read more about the Socially & Economically Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program here.
