Groom Road Corridor Improvements (LA 19 – Plank Road) Project Page

Project Description: This project is proposed to enhance pedestrian and potentially bicycle mobility for users traveling to the schools and other public facilities along the corridor. Drainage will be analyzed and improved along the corridor to alleviate known occurrences of flooding in localized areas.

Date	Status
03/2024	Project has been split into two phases. Phase I is from McHugh intersection east to Plank Rd. Phase II is from McHugh intersection west to Main St. Right of way acquisitions for Phase I are underway. Phase I Right of way acquisitions are underway and 100% Final Plans are nearly complete.
02/2024	Project has been split into two phases. Phase I is from McHugh intersection east to Plank Rd. Phase II is from McHugh intersection west to Main St. Right of way acquisitions for Phase I are underway.
01/2024	Project has been split into two phases. Phase I is from McHugh intersection east to Plank Rd. Phase II is from McHugh intersection west to Main St. The consultant is nearly complete with final plans for Phase I. Required ROW acquisitions for Phase I are underway.
12/2023	Project has been split into two phases. Phase I is from McHugh intersection east to Plank Rd. Phase II is from McHugh intersection west to Main St. The consultant is working on final plans for Phase I. Appraisals for Required ROW for Phase I are underway.
11/2023	Project has been split into two phases. Phase I is from McHugh intersection east to Plank Rd. Phase II is from McHugh intersection west to Main St. The Design Consultant is working on the comments from the 90% design submittal for Phase I. Right-of-way maps have been prepared and are under review.
08/2023	Project has been split into two phases. Phase I is from McHugh intersection east to Plank Rd. Phase II is from McHugh intersection west to Main St. The Design Consultant is preparing the 90% design submittal for Phase I. ROW maps have been prepared and are under review.
12/2022	The Design Consultant is preparing the 60% (plan in hand) design submittal.
05/2022	The design study is complete and public meeting was held. Negotiations and contracting for the Final Design Phase are underway with the Engineering Design Consultant.
05/2021	The Design Consultant is preparing the design study.  Topographic survey and environmental investigations are complete.  A public meeting will be held before the conclusion of the design study phase.
