Project Description: The scope of work includes turning lane extension. Jefferson Highway is a fivelane highway running east and west at the intersection with Bluebonnet Boulevard (a four-lane roadway). The improvements will provide additional storage length and additional capacity in the intersection.

Date Status
01/2023 The City-Parish advertised for construction bids on 12/30/2022. The bids are due at the end of January.
02/2022 The Design Consultant is preparing final plans for the proposed intersection improvements.
10/2021 The Design Consultant has finalized the traffic study and is preparing preliminary plans for the proposed intersection improvements.
08/2021 The Design Consultant is finalizing the traffic study and preparing preliminary plans for the proposed intersection improvements.
07/2021 The Design Consultant is finalizing the traffic study and the corridor survey. Those two elements of work will determine the modifications needed for the intersection.
04/2021 The Design Consultant is preparing the traffic study and performing the corridor survey. Those two elements of work will determine the modifications needed for the intersection.
02/2021 The Design Consultant contract is nearing execution and the design Notice to Proceed is expected to be issued in February.
10/2020 Negotiations and contracting are underway with the Engineering Design Consultant.
