MOVEBR Celebrates South Choctaw (Flannery – Central Thruway) Ribbon Cutting
BATON ROUGE, LA — Today the MOVEBR Program hosted the ribbon cutting for the South Choctaw (Flannery – Central Thruway) capacity roadway improvements. The project consisted of widening the roadway from two lanes to four 12’ lanes for a 1.1-mile stretch. This makes South Choctaw four lanes from Airline Hwy to the Central Thruway. The improvements also include the installation of roadway lighting, subsurface drainage, and sidewalks on both sides of the roadway. Mayor Broome stated, “These improvements will be a significant benefit to this corridor.”
The project was designed by Evans-Graves Engineers, Inc and was constructed by RJ Daigle & Sons Contractors, LLC; both are local companies in the capital area.
