In an effort to alleviate area traffic, MOVEBR project managers have set their sights on redesigning a portion of Lee Drive from Highland to Perkins Road, a $35 million project.
Baton Rouge General plans to make changes to its Mid City campus, include turning a parking area into a community green space, in order to tie in to Florida Boulevard enhancements that are part of the city-parish’s MOVEBR plan.
District 2 Councilwoman Chauna Banks is hosting a two-day public meeting for North Baton Rouge residents. MOVEBR, BREC and the Center For Planning Excellence (CPEX) will explain new improvements coming soon to Scotlandville.
WBRZ reports that hundreds of traffic lights are in the process of being synchronized, including the major intersections around LSU. The synchronization is part of MovEBR's $1B road improvement program.
As more MOVEBR projects move into the construction phase, the program management team has implemented a process to quickly address any inconveniences or unintended business disruptions that may occur.
MOVEBR transportation and infrastructure rapid response team addressed problems that have impacted businesses across the East Baton Rouge parishes. The MOVEBR project focuses on repairing power outages, temporary loss of access to businesses and other disruptions causes by natural disasters.
The MOVEBR program includes 21 ADA transition projects totaling $10 million to help build a more accessible transportation network in East Baton Rouge Parish.
As part of the MOVEBR program, this project will now include the rehabilitation and resurfacing of Plank Road, new sidewalks, signal improvements and amenities for the BRT system such as enhanced bus stops with improved lighting, fewer stops by specialized vehicles, traffic signal priority, real-time arrival information displays, improved pedestrian and bicycle connections, and other features.
