MOVEBR By the Numbers

Fred Raiford, Director of Transportation & Drainage, and Mayor-President Broome at the announcement of MOVEBR’s Traffic Signal Synchronization Program on July 13, 2020.

Since the MOVEBR program kicked off one year ago, the program management team has worked with the administration to advance 20 projects into the design phase. Through the City-Parish procurement process, 100 specialty and design firms have been selected to work on MOVEBR projects with 78 contracts negotiated.

Contracts awarded as of July 1, 2020 total $12.4 million, of which $11.9 million were awarded to East Baton Rouge Parish firms, supporting our local economy during a time of uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 crisis.

The MOVEBR program is now moving projects into the construction phase with the anticipation of the first groundbreaking to take place this summer.

You can track the progress of MOVEBR contracts awarded and the projected 12-month construction outlook on the MOVEBR website.
