In-person Public Meetings Are Back!

After 15 months of engaging the public virtually, the MOVEBR Program is back to holding in-person meetings. These meetings will be held for various projects throughout the parish.

In the spring of 2020, the MOVEBR program shifted to virtual meetings as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the mandated restrictions for in-person gatherings. However, the Program remained committed to its goal of engaging the citizens of the parish.

As the program returns to in-person meetings, the public can expect open house style meetings to provide citizens an opportunity to review project specific information, provide their feedback and speak with project team members. One of the goals of the program is to ensure the public is informed and engaged throughout the duration of the program. Additionally, the Small Business Outreach Team anticipates holding in-person events for those who are interested in contracting with the MOVEBR Program.

The return to in-person meetings kicked off in May with a networking event for prime and sub-contractors, followed by open house meetings for the Hooper Rd (Blackwater - Joor), Hooper Rd (Joor - Sullivan) and MacHost Road Projects in June. For the remainder of the year, you can expect to see additional project-related events and meetings to connect with businesses interested in working with the program.

If you would like to attend a community meeting for a project, sign up to be alerted for upcoming public meetings and events.
