January 11, 2024

BATON ROUGE, LA. — The MOVEBR program broke ground on the Constantin Blvd. (Midway Dr – Bluebonnet Blvd.). This project extends the current Constantin Blvd., formerly known as Dijon Ave., from Midway Drive to Bluebonnet Blvd. Once completed it will provide connectivity from Essen Lane to Bluebonnet Blvd. The roadway will continue the existing four 11-foot travel lanes. Additionally, it will include roadway lighting, a 10-foot multi-use path, 5-foot sidewalk, a connection to BREC’s Ward Creek Greenway, improved turning lanes for Bluebonnet at I-10, dedicated turning lanes onto Bluebonnet Blvd., and a signalized pedestrian crossing at the Midway Intersection.

The goal of the project is to increase vehicular throughput and provide pedestrian access in the area. The project was designed by Stantec and is being constructed by Boone Services at an estimated cost of $17M. Apex Engineering and GWS are small businesses that worked on the project.
