1st Thursday Outlook Provides a Look Ahead for Small Businesses
The MOVEBR Program launched the 1st Thursday Outlook, a monthly 30-minute conference call, to update small business owners on opportunities to compete for project work. In April, the MOVEBR 1st Thursday Outlook call provided a look ahead to upcoming MOVEBR projects and discussed openings for construction inspection services.
The May call provided attendees with a Construction Vendor Database Overview, and discussion and review of construction opportunities over the next 12 months with the specific types of work that would be needed on projects. Those who joined the call also heard a success story of a small business that is working on the MOVEBR program.
In June, the MOVEBR 1st Thursday Outlook call provided attendees with a first look at the East Baton Rouge Parish’s new Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Business (SEDB) Program, presented by Kris Goranson, Director of City-Parish Purchasing. Also, members of the MOVEBR Program Management team answered questions about the Projected 12-Month construction project outlook.
On July 1, 2021, the MOVEBR Program Managers gave updates on projects scheduled to be advertised over the next 3-6 months. The project team also discussed pervious concrete that will be used in MOVEBR projects with special guest Bill Temple.
