Elm Grove Garden Sidewalks Project Improves Safety Near School

The Elm Grove Garden Drive sidewalks project is complete, making pedestrian access safer on this street from Blount Road to Rosenwald Road. New sidewalks that are ADA compliant and a pedestrian-activated rapid-flashing crosswalk beacon provide safer access to Ryan Elementary School and the Progress Road Head Start campus.

Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome joined District 2 Councilwoman Chauna Banks and school officials to cut the ribbon on the new project on Wednesday, October 16 at 1 p.m. in front of Ryan Elementary School.

The project included both sides of Elm Grove Garden Drive and also accommodates bus transit stops within the project boundaries.  C.H. Fenstermaker and Associates were the design consultants for this project and Triumph Construction was the contractor.
