MOVEBR is Making Streets More Accessible to All

The MOVEBR program has completed nine projects that removed barriers and improved intersections to make our streets work better for everyone and bring the City-Parish closer to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. These projects installed 576 ADA-compliant ramps at intersections and completed 16,609 square yards of new or repaired sidewalks.

These upgrades, part of the MOVEBR Community Enhancement projects, included improvements like wheelchair ramps, wider sidewalks, audible pedestrian signals, crosswalk striping and more. In some cases, curb ramps were too steep, too narrow or did not exist. Sidewalks and driveways were repaired to make them accessible. Many of these projects also improve access to existing or planned bus stops.

The MOVEBR program also has a fully accessible website that can be customized by users to display content according to individual needs.

Thanks to the voters of East Baton Rouge Parish, the MOVEBR program is making Baton Rouge streets more accessible and safer for everyone.
