MOVEBR Program Breaks Ground on Terrace Avenue Corridor Improvements Project
Mayor-President Sid Edwards and local officials broke ground on the Terrace Avenue (Highland Road to Perkins Road) Corridor Improvements projects today to transform this corridor into a Complete Street that safely accommodates all users while maintaining neighborhood character and access.
The project proposes to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility and crossing safety by improving the existing corridor to better accommodate access needs in this area. The project includes sidewalk improvements, pedestrian crosswalk improvements and roadway improvements.
Several traffic calming measures will be used to reduce vehicle speeds and enhance safety, including narrowing lanes, creating a serpentine alignment that requires drivers to steer back and forth instead of a straight line, raised intersections that slow drivers, and on-street parking alternating from side to side.
