Our MOVEBR Program Completed 15 Projects in 2025 with 20 More Moving into Construction

As we look forward to another year of progress and potential for East Baton Rouge Parish, my administration remains focused on our priorities—public safety, infrastructure, blight, neighborhood revitalization, youth development, and homelessness. Many of these are interconnected, and I have encouraged our MOVEBR program managers to move projects out quickly, identify all viable federal and state funding opportunities, and use innovation and technology to enhance projects for the future. We’re doing just that and completed 15 projects in 2025 while moving 20 more into construction.

Among the projects that moved into construction in 2025 are a significant corridor improvement project for Groom Road in Baker, the Picardy-Perkins Connector – pump station and railroad underpass, two segments of Old Hammond Highway, and McHugh Road. We started and completed building the first Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon to improve safety on Bluebonnet Boulevard, with more to come on busy streets that need safe pedestrian crossings. In addition to sidewalks, ADA improvements, speed signs and signals, in 2025 the program completed BRG Way, a new roadway connecting Picardy Avenue and Constantin Boulevard, and the first MOVEBR project completed within the Baton Rouge Health District. Below is a complete list of 2025 projects:
