Ribbon Cutting Held for Hundred Oaks Avenue Sidewalks Project

A ribbon cutting was held for the completion of the Hundred Oaks Avenue Sidewalks Project – the 43rd MOVEBR project completed, and the eighth completed under Mayor-President Sid Edwards. The project enhanced pedestrian safety and improved drainage for residents along Hundred Oaks Avenue between Acadian Thruway and Perkins Road.
Fred Raiford, Director of Transportation and Drainage for East Baton Rouge Parish, led the ribbon cutting with Jeff LeDuff, Assistant Chief Administrative Officer to Mayor-President Edwards. They were joined by Dr. Susanna Greggio, Building and Project Manager for the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge and Hundred Oaks residents.
Raiford explained the project included 4,424 feet of new or repaired sidewalks, 330 feet of new crosswalks, 22 ramps and 8,500 square feet of repaired driveways, all built to ADA standards. At Dawson Creek, the project installed 290 feet of subsurface drainage and six new catch basins.
This project was one of the future community enhancement projects provided by the MOVEBR proposition and approved by the Metro Council in 2023. La Terre Engineering provided design services and Grady Crawford Construction was the contractor for the project.
