Sherwood Forest Extn. (Greenwell Springs – Joor) Project Page

Project Description: This scope of work includes a new two-lane roadway with shoulders and open ditch drainage. The Sherwood Forest Extension is a greenfield project connecting Sherwood Forest at Greenwell Springs to Joor Road. The connection at Joor Road is the intersection of Joor Road and Mickens Road (another MOVEBR project).

Date Status
12/2023 The Design Study is being finalized. The next phase will be final design followed by right of way acquisition and construction.
07/2023 The Design Study is being finalized. Negotiations with the Design Consultant for Final Design are underway.
07/2023 The design consultant is preparing to begin final design of the project based on the work completed during the Design Study. Design will continue through 2023.
01/2023 The Design Study is underway, including hydraulic analysis, traffic analysis, survey, and corridor study.
06/2022 The design study has started including hydraulic analysis, traffic analysis, survey, and corridor study.
04/2021 The design study has started including traffic analysis, survey, and corridor study. 
02/2021 Design study has been contracted with the engineering design consultant. The Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment (Phase 1 ESA) is underway, surrounding property owners have been notified and surveys are being conducted. Contracting is completed for the specialty consultant to perform wetland permitting services and work is underway.
 11/2020 Design study contracting is underway with the engineering design consultant.
