Mickens Road Public Open House

The City-Parish and MOVEBR Program Management Team held a public open house for the Mickens Road (Hooper Rd - Joor Rd.) Project on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Glen Oaks High School. This project will construct a three-lane roadway from Hooper Rd. to Lanier Dr., incorporating a shared-use path on both sides to support pedestrian and bicycle traffic. This segment will feature a closed drainage system to enhance stormwater management and reduce maintenance needs. From Lanier Dr. to Joor Rd., the roadway will transition to a two-lane configuration with an open drainage system and paved shoulders, enhancing safety and accessibility. During the meeting, the public was able to review conceptual images of the proposed improvements and ask questions of the project team and provide feedback on the presented alternatives.
