Active Construction Projects Near LSU
The MOVEBR program is providing construction updates on three important projects under construction in the LSU area to help residents and the LSU community plan their travel. For your safety and the safety of our crews, please exercise caution when driving in construction areas and follow signs or instructions from flag wavers.
Nicholson Dr Segment 1 (Brightside - Gourrier) Project
Nicholson Drive Segment (Brightside Drive to Gourrier Avenue)
- Ongoing clearing and grubbing (removing vegetation and preparing the ground for construction).
- The northbound sidewalk along the railroad on Nicholson Dr. is closed to pedestrians, and is expected to open after October 23.
- Work will begin soon on the southbound side of Brightside Dr. and Nicholson Dr., including removing trees, fencing, and light poles, plus pouring concrete. That sidewalk will be intermittently closed. More information will be shared closer to this work starting.
- There will be no construction work done on LSU game days, and crews will finish early on Fridays before the home games.
Terrace Ave (Highland Rd - Perkins Rd) Project
Terrace Ave (Highland Rd - Perkins Rd) Project
- Roadway construction continues with excavation activities underway.
- Westbound lane of Terrace will be closed between Royal St & Highland Rd on game day and through late October. No impacts on Highland Rd travel.
- Westbound traffic will detour via a right turn onto Royal and left turn onto Julia to reach Highland Rd.
Perkins Road Overpass Project jghjghjhjgjgghj
- Construction activities continue.
- Drainage & excavation work continues throughout the project area.
- Businesses remain open, and free parking is available in the adjacent parking lot.
